awareness, non-partisan political advocacy, and
systematic approaches to applying communications and
broadband networking goals.
We endeavor to:
Help communities understand viable and
realistic community communications
infrastructure options while applying best
practices concepts.
Provide economic, planning, and standards
models.
Foster research and development.
Systematize and standardize wiring standards
for new construction.
Bring together interested communities,
governmental organizations, and developers to facilitate dialog, education, and the
advancement of productive community
communications assets for all.
Why US-CCA?
Today, communities are identified through GIS and
demographic characteristics for their services
infrastructure: population characteristics, water,
sewer, electrical, and natural gas. We propose to
add communications infrastructure to the list, to
allow communities to be identified for their
communications capital asset infrastructure
commitments.
Who is US-CCA?
The US-CCA was founded in 2005 by community leaders,
community communications products and service
vendors and the communities that surround them.
US-CCA seeks to get rid of connectivity deserts and
the odd mess of community connectivity and replace
it with models for universal access, new
residential/commercial construction, and community
services based on cohesive communications
infrastructure. This is a vital step in every
community's economic development plan-one that will
allow businesses and residents to identify
communities based upon their level of supportable
services that are necessary for their protection,
livelihood, and enjoyment.
US-CCA Background
The US-CCA was founded in 2005 to promote community communications asset
development through the use of standards-based
communications infrastructure to benefit future
generations. We are building referential models that
communities can use in conjunction with public,
public-private, and organized partnerships to
achieve these goals. Driven by the needs of communities, the US-CCA
places value on the public-private partnerships that
are needed today to bring about both economic
development and quality of life for communities
willing to provide leadership and resources to their
city's utility assets. This fifth utility guarantees
subsequent generations will have the communications
platform they need for education, communications,
entertainment, municipal/emergency services,
telemedicine, and other needs.
